| Medieval Workshop | | February 28th 2008 | | by A Haywood | | During our Eisteddfod week, children in Year 1 and 2 took part in a workshop led by the Newport Medieval Ship Project. They had lots of fun learning about life in a medieval castle. | | | |
| Lady Worthalot lived in Newport Castle 500 years ago. She was very upset when she saw what Newport Castle looked like today.
| | Lady Worthalot showed us lots of pictures of her home. She explained what all the different pasrt of the castle were for, and who lived in them. | | Lady Worthalot was very rich because she had her own coin striker. He showed us how to make money!

| Some of Lady Worthalot's food is the same as our food today. We can tell that she is rich because she can afford to eat chicken. | | Rosemary was used to make the food taste nice. We thought it smelt unusual!
| | Lots of other herbs were put into their food too....like mint and thyme.
